The gospel is the message which Jesus came to proclaim during his ministry on earth also know as the (good news). To reinstate us back to our original calling and destiny before we fell in the garden of Eden when Adam and eve ate of the forbidden fruit being deceived by enemy. In falling we became enemies of god because of our sinful nature and fundamentally giving death power over us in that we where all predestined to spend eternity separated from our lord and god.

In this context Jesus is also known as the second Adam who came and died for all sin ever committed by man kind to reconcile us onto god, making a way for us to come back into our original purpose which was to fellowship with our lord god through Jesus our high priest who paid the price for all sin when he was nailed to the cross of Calvary. Where he died the death that we deserved as sinners by atoning for all sin via his  precious blood which is why he is sometimes referred to as the lamb of god because like the old testament customs of animal sacrifices to temporarily atone for sin by the shedding of blood of a lamb.

Being perfect he is what the bible calls the perfect sacrifice dieing once for all mankind so that who ever believes in him is no longer an enemy of god but takes on the spirit of adoption coming back into the original purpose of the human race which was to have fellowship with god only trough Jesus Christ.

How can you accept this amazing gift of salvation?

In  Romans 10v 9-10 That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. In doing this the next step would be to then be to become what Jesus calls being “born again” which he explain to a man named Nicodemus that if a man is not born again then he cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven. So this is symbolic to a new birth not of the flesh but of  our spirit man whom has come alive through believing in Christ (see more in john chapter 3).

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. In becoming new in Christ we turn away from our sinful ways slowly but surly becoming more Christ like as we submit ourselves to our lord Jesus in holiness slowly but surely becoming more like him.

Ephesians 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

I’m born again now what?

The bible refers to new believer in the faith as babes, so as a spiritual babe you need to really get grounded in the word of god which will guide you in this life and show you how to live a life which is pleasing unto god. 1 peter 2v2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.

(in terms of reading of the bible my advice would be to start with the synoptic gospels to start off with and as your knowledge increases the holy spirit will guide you on what to read and in what order. As we all learn differently so the lord will know what is best fitting for you as an individual.)

From my own experience it is also vital to get around fellow believers in a bible believing church where you can grow and eventually get involved. As you learn more and more about the bible you will then become more confident  in what you believe and will then be more equipt to share this with other as the great commission instructs us.  The more knowledge we  have the better the more likely we will be able to grow and in time recognize the false doctrine from sound, as their is much deception lurking. And also be aware of the enemy the devil whom seeks to steal that precious gift in which Christ has come to give us. In Jude 1v3 it states that we should earnestly contend for the faith in other words, defending the word of god. Which one will only be able to do if we have read and understood via the inspiration of the holy spirit.

This walk with god is a relationship so it is our best interest to stay close to him at all times, our way of communicating to to god is prayer. We should pray without ceasing the bible states, in order for the holy spirit to guide us in our every day life and teaching us to obey the lord god eventually becoming more holy. Matthew 6v6 gives good instructions on what our prayer life should look like along with numerous examples of great men and women of god whom set examples for us to follow.

Why did Jesus have to die for us?

It was a custom since the old testament that the children of Isreal would sacrifice an animal to atone for their sin for a short time, most commonly a lamb. The blood of any sacrifice only covered their sin for a short time until they would have to repeat the  process again and again. Hebrews 10 v9then He said, “behold i have come to do your will.” He takes away the first in order to establish the second.10By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins;

The bible also states that the wages of sin is death and if we do not accept Jesus as our savior then we get the just reward for being a sinner which is an eternity away from the almighty gods presence (also refereed to as hell or the lake of fire). As well as coming to rescue us from this terrible fate Jesus warned numerous times in the new testament of this out come for those whom don’t accept him as lord and savior.

Matthew 5v29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

Aside from eternity Jesus also came that we can benefit from knowing him in life also not just in eternity in heaven, he said in John 10 v10  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
